Wangaratta RSLThe 2/24th Battalion Association’s annual reunion weekend.

“Terrific to be invited as guest speaker. A full room of 60 guests. I read extracts from my article “Two to two thousand”. This article explored the assumptions and challenges during my collaboration with Bill Rudd to trawl through multiple archive and private sources to compile a nominal roll of Australians in Italy. Bill had a sparky wit. My article, and this speech, drew unashamedly heavily on military jargon to describe some of our battle tactics for this task and the reinforcements we needed. The 2/24th’s reunion weekend included unveiling of a special mural on the entrance wall to Wangaratta Showground.”
